General Responsibilities
Curriculum and Instruction:
• Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of language acquisition principles and EAL best practices.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, the PYP Coordinator, and learning support staff to plan and implement foundational English instruction for EAL students in Years 1–6.
• Design and deliver engaging pull-out sessions that develop students’ English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
• Differentiate instruction based on English language proficiency levels and individual learning needs.
• Promote inquiry-based language development and conceptual understanding through authentic learning experiences.
• Integrate technology and innovative strategies to support English language acquisition and student engagement.
Assessment and Reporting:
• Use a range of formative and summative assessments to monitor and document student progress in English language development.
• Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student growth and inform instruction.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide assessment practices for EAL learners.
